Thistle statement: long COVID debate, Scottish Parliament

The negative impact on the health and wellbeing of people living with long COVID is to be recognised today (19th May 2022) during a debate in the Scottish Parliament.

Thistle Foundation CEO, Mark Hoolahan commented, “At Thistle, our health and wellbeing team is providing support to people across Scotland who are living with the long term effects of COVID which can be debilitating, and lead to isolation and loneliness.

“We welcome this debate in Parliament and the recognition that there is a need to work in partnership with a range of stakeholders, including the third sector, to deliver localised support. It's vital that people living with long COVID have access to a range of support including supported self-management, to ensure that a health crisis does not become a life crisis.”

Thistle provides in-person and remote self-management support for people living with long-term health conditions, including long COVID. Find out more here.
