Making a real difference with Big Plans

The Big Plan is a uniquely Scottish development of large group Person Centred Planning, first pioneered by Dr Beth Mount and Connie Lyle O’Brien in the USA.

Based on a decade of experience in Scotland, Thistle offers a 3 day course for prospective facilitators of Big Plans which focuses on the skills and knowledge necessary to lead a collaborative process which might involve 40-50 community members at one time.

The Big Plan offers a unique opportunity to engage individuals, families and community volunteers in a joint endeavour where the people planning find creative and meaningful ideas for their future and begin to make these happen.

Learning Outcomes:

The next course will take place at Thistle Foundation's Centre of Wellbeing, Edinburgh, EH16 4EA on the 3rd, 18th & 23rd June 2020 from 9:30am - 3:30pm. There will be preparatory work between sessions 1 & 2.

The cost for the 3 days’ training is £495+VAT, including Facilitation Pack and a light lunch. There is a £100 discount for charities with fewer than 100 employees.
