A national centre for wellbeing in the heart of Craigmillar
- Nicola Sturgeon, opening our Centre of Wellbeing on the 14th June 2016
The Centre is an accessible, welcoming and friendly community space for people that are supported by Thistle, local residents and the wider community. It will also serve as our new office headquarters in Edinburgh.
The building will host a range of health and wellbeing activities, including a small gym and classes such as tai chi and pilates and provide the organisation with training and conference facilities, which are also available for external organisations to hire.
We hope that Thistle’s new building will not only be a permanent home for Thistle in Edinburgh but a well used community space and resource for now and the future.
Thistle has a long history in the Craigmillar area. Set up by Sir Francis and Lady Tudsbery in the early 1940s, Thistle Foundation built the Thistle village – a pioneering venture that enabled disabled ex servicemen to get the medical support they needed while living at home with their families.
You can hire our rooms for training, seminar or conference activities. You can find out more about our facilities here and book by contacting our reception team.
The Centre of Wellbeing would not have been possible without the support of our funders:
