Frequently asked questions

  • Are all of your self management courses free?

Yes and they always will be. We fund the courses with the support of people who give regularly to Thistle, as well as grants from a variety of sources.

  • What if I don’t want to join a group?

That’s Ok – you don’t have to! We run one-to-one Lifestyle Management courses as well as group sessions. You can decide what you think is going to work for you. We get lots of feedback from people who tell us that participating in a group course has lots of benefits they didn’t expect, like sharing tips and ideas on how to manage better, as well as making new friends and knowing you’re not alone.

  • What if I’m too nervous to speak in front of the group?

If you don’t feel comfortable talking in front of a group or sharing why you’re there, that’s OK. You won’t be asked to contribute unless you want to. We will never force you or ‘put you on the spot’. The most important thing to us is that you feel welcome and comfortable.
