Booking Classes Q&A

We’ve had a few questions about how booking for classes is working at the moment and thought we would share these – and our answers – with you. We hope you find this helpful.

Q: Can I book in-person for next week’s session at the end of this week’s class?

A: While this seems to be an obvious way to book for your next class, for the time being we’re asking everyone to book by phone only.  This is to limit the number of people coming into the hub, in order to keep our staff and visitors safe. This is also why we’ve put a one-way system in place.   

To make sure that as many people as possible get the opportunity to attend a class, we’re doing telephone bookings until we can get back to normal.

This is a challenge for us, so if you have other ideas how we can improve the booking system while still making it as simple and fair as possible, please do let us know.


Q: I tried to book in to a specific session but the class was full. What can I do?

A: Sadly, our classes are smaller than usual as we have to limit the number of people in the Centre and ensure physical distancing to keep everyone safe. We’re sorry if you can’t get in to the class that you’d like to attend, and we are happy to add you to the waiting list in case of any cancellations.

We hope that as time goes on, we’ll be able to welcome more people to each class but in the meantime, phoning for a class in advance seems to be the fairest way to give as many people as possible the opportunity to attend.

We are still running on-line classes for anyone who can make them.


Q: What should I do if I’m booked in to a class but can’t make it?

A: Please let us know as soon as possible by phoning or emailing reception. We have a waiting list for each class, so if you are no longer able to come along we can offer your place to the next person on the waiting list.


Q: Could we use the Garden Suite to increase classes?

A: We would love to! Unfortunately we aren’t able to use the Garden Suite for classes as it’s not a safe environment. The Garden Suite is now being used for storage and essential staff training only.


Q: I enjoy coming to the Centre for exercise but also to see my friends, why aren’t we able to have a cuppa before or after our session?

A: Our priority in re-opening the Centre was to get classes and gym sessions back, as people told us how important it was for them to stay active, and make sure that the Centre is ‘Covid Secure’ so that you can come back safely. This has included our one-way system and the need to limit people using the Hub, including staff, people we support and our class and gym members.

We will revisit the opportunity for a cuppa and a blether when Scottish Government guidance allows and we are less limited in our use of space.

We know this is an important part of coming to the Centre for many people and we so enjoy having a chat with you too!
