HEC in 'Person Centred Approaches'

Please note: we have suspended our 2011 intake for the HEC in Person Centred Approaches. For more information please click here.

We deliver an award-winning* Higher Education Certificate in Person Centred Approaches that has been designed by Altrum. This course is built around a person centred approach that recognises each person as the primary authority on his or her own life.

Course leader

Person centred support is tailored to the individual; it is about enabling someone to lead the life they want. If your organisation is committed to providing high quality support, our courses can help your staff achieve this ambition. Having confident, skilled support workers will take your organisation into the future, and our courses are the ideal way to invest in your employees and their development.

Graduates of the HEC will be able to offer truly personalised support to vulnerable people at risk of exclusion. These may include:

  • Young people in transition
  • People who are homeless
  • People living with a mental health problem
  • Disabled people
  • Older people
  • People who have been released from prison
  • People living in areas of deprivation

Regardless of their circumstances, these vulnerable people can become empowered with the right support from you and your staff. Students will learn how to maximise the quality of life of the people they support, working with them to clarify what they want to achieve.
