Support for Veterans

Working in partnership with agencies such as Veterans First Point and Combat Stress, we run highly commended* Lifestyle Management for Veterans courses in a range of locations across Scotland.

Providing support to veterans of all ages, our courses are currently held at our Edinburgh headquarters. We hope to expand the reach of these courses across Scotland later this year and into 2011.

The 10-week programme supports veterans to move forward in civilian life and cope with mental health concerns such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Based on our general Lifestyle Management model, the course is solution-focused and supports veterans to:

  • Improve confidence and coping
  • Manage mental distress
  • Control anger and aggression
  • Adapt to civilian life
  • Look to the future
  • Increase employability

These courses are currently funded by the Thistle Trust, Poppyscotland and the Scottish Veterans Fund.
