Thistle Foundation takes part in Craigmillar Festival

Last month, Thistle Foundation ran two events as part of the Craigmillar Festival.

The first was in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh’s Centre of Regenerative Medicine and took part in the Bio Quarter. Our joint event aimed to showcase what we do in a fun way; to encourage young people in the local community, and members of the Thistle YP to be curious to find out more about what stem cell research is and what scientists do.

At the event, there was a brief introduction to our adaptive bikes by Gail (from our Thistle Outdoors team) and an offer to jump on the various types of equipment with someone new and have a “bit of a blether”. The event attracted a number of scientists, researchers, young people and residents who spent time chatting and cycling together.

Our second event took place at the Thistle Foundation’s Centre of Wellbeing, where residents and members of Thistle YP took part in our drop in cycle session.
